WORLD PRIDE PARADE CANCELLED
PRAISE GOD!

The homosexual World Pride Parade, scheduled for August 6-12 in Jerusalem has, in effect, been cancelled for the second year in a row. Though the actual outdoor parades and events have been affected due to the cancellation, unfortunately the planned smaller indoor events have not.

The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem's (ICEJ) media release of 25 July notes that, "The controversial international gathering is opposed by 85% of Jerusalem's residents and has brought Christian, Jewish and Muslim leaders into a rare alignment against it."

Despite the security concerns by Police in Jerusalem (due to already stretch resources) as the main reason for not issuing permits, and the loss of lives in both Israel and Lebanon, due Hizb'Allah's ongoing terrorist activities, and Israel's offensive against Hizb'Allah, Christian Witness Ministries praises God for the cancellation of this obominable parade, whose only purpose is to showcase the degradation of man and his sin, to defile the Holy City even further, and to offend the morality of Bible believing people.

ORIGINAL ALERT . . .
Though Christian Witness Ministries does NOT unconditionally support all the doctrines, theology, statements and actions of the executives and leaders of International Christian Embassy Jerusalem (ICEJ), Christian Friends of Israel (CFI) and Bridges for Peace, CWM does support their Joint Statement on World Pride Parade made in their stand against the proposed homosexual parade scheduled to take place August 6-12, 2006 in Jerusalem.

JOINT STATEMENT ON WORLD PRIDE PARADE

Conveying the views of millions of Christians worldwide, we the undersigned ministries based in Jerusalem wish to publicly register our dissent to the World Pride gay parade planned for this city in August. We do so out of our great love and respect for Jerusalem, the only city in the world that the Bible decrees as holy. (Daniel 9:24)
It is clear that Jerusalem has been deliberately targeted not because it has any particular significance to the gay and lesbian community, but because of the supreme importance this city holds for those of biblical faith.
For generations now, Jerusalem has been revered by Jews and Christians. Here, the God of the Bible chose to place His name, to speak to His world, and to carry out His redemptive purposes for humanity.
"Thus says the Lord of hosts: I am zealous for Jerusalem and for Zion with great zeal," says Zechariah 1:14.
The decision to hold this event in Jerusalem can only be seen as a calculated and confrontational act meant to provoke and offend those who adhere to timeless, biblical moral standards in the very place they hold most dear.
We stand in solidarity with the clear majority of Jerusalem residents who oppose this degradation of their city, and we urge the proper national and local authorities to reconsider the decision to allow the event to take place.
